\DarkestDungeon\mods -> Subfolder within the "mods" folder -> Actual Files for the mod in their respective Subfolder. The most important part is that your files in your mods folder should be organized like so. The process remains more or less the same.

When downloaded, create an empty folder in your DD "mods" folder (I don't think the name matters.). Take your Mods URL Page and paste it into the downloader. Open Steam Workshop Downloader :: IO in a different tab. (Support the mod by giving it a thumbs up.) Go to Steam Community :: Darkest Dungeon® and find the page for the mod you want. I don't know what your expericence level with mods is, and I just want to try to cover all bases for you.Locate your DD "mods" folder. Quick version.find mod on nexus, download it to a folder, unzip the file, extract the folder to whereever it needs to go in your C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DarkestDungeon folder. 1-4 will be the original crusader skins, and now the 5th one will be the new crusader skin.

Now jump into the game, get your crusader, and start clicking through his different outfits. Once it's in that folder it is already activated. You won't get any boxes to check like on Steam. Once that folder is in there, that is all you have to do. So now you will have crusader_A, B, C, D (original ones), and now crusader_L. So the actual "crusader_L" folder would be extracted into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DarkestDungeon\heroes\crusader. If you do ever run across that in the future, you would just rename it to another letter.example could be crusader_M. So as long as you don't have another folder in there labled that, it's okay. The "Female Crusader Skin" folder for the mod we are talking about is labeled at crusader_L.

The creators of these skin mods will usually label theirs somewhere down the alphabet line. The default ones for the game are crusader_A, B, C, and D. You will now see all the crusader skins that you currently for your game. Open it up and now you will see all the Hero folders for the game. Okay, now, since this is a "Hero" skin, you want to scroll down and find the folder that says "heroes". Mine is at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DarkestDungeon.and this is where all the juicy stuff is at. To get started, first you need to know where your "Darkest Dungeon" folder is located at on your computer.

Click once on the "crusader_L" folder and now you want to "Extract" it to where the heroes folder is at. Now what you will see inside this file is a folder called "crusader_L".which is exactly what you want to see. If you don't have an unzipping program I would suggest WinRAR. Now you should have a zipped file called "Female Crusader Skin". Just makes it alot easier and keeps everything easy find. I would suggest making a folder on your desktop called DDNexusMods, and download them into that folder. Once you download a nexus mod you need to unzip it and take a look at how that mod maker set their folder up. All of the Nexus Mods still stick to using normal folder pathing (if that makes sense).
